Fix Corrupted User Profiles in Windows 10/11
The procedure varies depending on whether your Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer is in a domain or workgroup network. Where the Workgroup is a peer to peer network model while the domain is a client/server network model.
1. Computers In Domain Networks
If the Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer is in a domain network, follow these steps.
  • Open the Microsoft Management Console by searching for it in the Start menu. You can also search for it via Windows Search and type mmc, then run it by selecting Run as administrator.
  • If you are asked for a password or administrator confirmation, then enter the password or provide confirmation.
  • In the left pane of the Microsoft Management Console, select Local Users and Groups. If you don’t see Users and Groups, it’s probably because the snap-in hasn’t been added to the Microsoft Management Console. Follow these steps to add it. In the Microsoft Management Console, select the File menu and click Add/Remove Snap-in.
  • Select Local Users and Groups, then click Add.
  • Select Local computer in the new window that appears and click Finish.
  • Then in the Add/Remove Snap-in window click OK.
  • Now the Local Users and Groups in the main Microsoft Management Console window are displayed. Select the Users folder on the middle pane or expand Local Users and Groups.
  • Select the Action menu and select New User.
  • In the new window that appears, enter the appropriate information, and then click Create.
  • After you have finished creating a user account, select Close.
  • The last step is torestart your system.

2. Computers In a Network Workgroup
If a Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer is in a Workgroup network, follow these steps.
First, you have to create a new user account and then change the new account to an administrator account. To create a new administrator account, do the following.
  • Open the Start menu and select Settings. You can use the Win + I keys.
  • In the Settings window select Accounts, then select Family & other users in the left pane and in the right pane, click Add someone else to this PC.
  • Select I don’t have this person’s sign-in information in the new window that appears and on the next page, select Add a user without a Microsoft account.
  • On this page enter your usernamepassword and passord confirmation, then click Next and follow the next steps to completion.

Once the account has been successfully created, it’s time to change it to an administrator account. To change the account, do the following.
  • Open the Start menu and select Settings.
  • In the Settings window select Accounts, then select Family & other users in the left pane and in the right pane click the newly created account, then click Change account type.
  • In the new window that appears in the Account type section, select Administrator from the drop down menu and click OK to save the changes.
  • Restart Your PC, then sign in with the new administrator account.

Returning Data From Old Profiles
Once you’ve created a new user profile and logged in, you can copy the file from the previous profile to the new user profile. Follow the steps below.
  • Open File Explorer. You can use the Win + E keys.
  • Select This PC, then select the hard drive where Windows is installed (usually drive C:). Then click the Users folder, followed by clicking on the folder with your username.
  • Find the folder below, where C is the drive where Windows is installed, and username_lama is the name of the profile where you want to copy the files.
C:\Users\username_lama
  • Press the CTRL + A keys to select all the files and folders that are in this folder, then right-click and select Copy or press the CTRL + C keys.
  • Then find the folder below, where C is the drive where Windows is installed, and username_baru is the name of the new user profile you created.
C:\Users\username_baru
  • In this folder, right-click and select Paste or press the CTRL + V keys. If a pop up window appears, then select Replace the files in the destination.
  • You can thenrestart your computer, then sign in again with a new user account.

Note that, if you have email messages on your email, then you’ll need to import your email messages and addresses into the new user profile separately. Some previously installed applications may need to be reconfigured or reinstalled. Also, if you open the Microsoft Store app, you may need to log back in to the app to view previous purchases or restore its settings.
