MACAM- MACAM JENIS KONEKSI WAN
Berikut ini merupakan jenis koneksi WAN beserta penjelasannya :
1. Dedicated Point to Point ialah merupakan link point to point atau dapat diartikan sebagai koneksi dedicated. Koneksi ini tidak memerlukan proses call setup terlebih dahulu ketika akan mengirimkan data antar DTE.
2. Circuit switching ialah proses pembentukan koneksi dengan melakukan prosedur call setup sebelum pengiriman data dilakukan.
3. Packet switching ialah metode WAN switching yang dimana mengijinkan user untuk membagi bandwith dengan pengguna lain untuk menghemat biaya.
4. DTE ialah merupakan Data Terminal Equipment yang berada pada sisi koneksi link WAN yang mengirim dan menerima data.
5. Demarc ialah titik demarkasi perkabelan dari perusahaan telepon terhubung ke perkabelan di sisi rumah pelanggan.
6. Local loop merupakan kabel ekstensi ke kantor central telephone.
7.DCE ialah peralatan data circuit terminating yang dimana digunakan untuk berkomunikasi dengan DTE dan juga WAN cloud.
8. PSE ialah packet suatu packet switching exchange, suatu switch pada jaringan pembawa packet-switched. PSE merupakan titik perantara pada WAN cloud.
9 .Central Office merupakan fasilitas switching dan memberikan entry pada WAN cloud serta exit points untuk panggilan masuk dan keluar dan juga bertindak sebagai switching point untuk meneruskan datanya ke central office yang lainnya.
10.WAN cloud merupakan hirarki dari trunk, switch, dan central office yang digunakan untuk membentuk jaringan sambungan telepon.
