Computers are now one of the electronic devices that cannot be separated in our daily lives, especially in the work environment. Most office work definitely requires computer equipment to facilitate work that cannot be done by humans. For those of you who are familiar with this field or work in a networked computer environment, you must be familiar with these types.

1. LAN (Local Area Network)

LAN network serves to connect network devices in relatively small coverage conditions. LAN also provides wireless network technology using WIfi and is better known as WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network).

2. MAN (Metropolitan Area Network)

MAN is a type of computer network that connects two or more LAN networks in the same city.

3. WAN (Wide Area Network)

A WAN can also be thought of as a collection of LANs that are geographically dispersed. A network device called a router connects a LAN to a WAN.

4. PAN (Pearson Area Network)

Just like LAN networks, PAN types of computer networks usually cover a smaller area such as a home or office network. Usually this type of network is used to share resources such as the Internet or printers.

5. CAN (Campus Area Network)

CAN is practically similar to the type of MAN computer network, but is limited to universities or colleges. This network is usually set up for educational activities such as class updates, lab practice, email, exams, notifications, and so on.

6. Internet

The Internet is the largest computer network ever created by humans. The scope of the internet covers almost all corners of the world. Anyone can access various sources of information in various computer devices, smartphones, laptops, and so on.

7. Vpn

VPN is a solution to provide a secure Internet connection. For example, a company has two offices; one in Jakarta and the other in Bandung. In this case the company can use a VPN to connect the two offices. VPN creates a secure path on the Internet and can be used for data transmission. source : media.information.digital
