Photoshop Version From Scratch Until Now

  1. Photoshop 0.63 – Display (1988)

Mac became the first vendor to feel the touch of Photoshop, a design software created in 1988 by Thomas and John Knoll, only using black and white eyes as the icon and a simple welcome splash. The Marquee Tool, Lasso Tool, Hand Tools, Erase Tool, Eyedropper Tool, Smudge Tool, Sharpen Tool, Blur Tool, and Brush Tool are the main weapons in this Photoshop version 0.63 and worksheets with a predominance of gray and white colors and several menubars that not complete now.

4. Adobe Photoshop version 2.0.1 (1993)

Dobe Photoshop 2.0 was released in June 1991 under the codename Fast Eddy. In this Photoshop version, the codename is added. The logo from Photoshop is still the same, namely the eye icon, but in version 2.0, the eyes have started to color, as well as the Welcome Splash, which changes with the Photoshop update.

8. Adobe Photoshop version 6.0 (2000)

Venus in Furs is the codename of Photoshop 6.0 which was released in September 2000. It still looks the same as versions 5.5, 5.0 and 4.0. Only features added such as: Vector Shapes, Liquify one of the features in the Filter and Layer styles/Blending Options dialog.

9. Adobe Photoshop version 7.0 (2002)

In March 2002 again Adobe released Photoshop 7.0 again with the codename Liquid Sky. Runs on Windows, Mac OS “Classic” and Mac OS X. Changes include a fresh look, fully vector text, healing brushes and a new painting engine.

10. Adobe Photoshop CS 8.0 (2003)

CS or the abbreviation of Creative Suite was released in October 2003 with the codename Dark Matter which runs on Mac OS X and Windows. Photoshop CS1 is the photoshop release that I’ve been using for the longest time, even now The added features are Camera RAW 2.x, Slice Tool, Shadow/Highlight, Lens Blur in the Filter menu, Documents can be up to 300000 pixels and many more.

11. Adobe Photoshop CS2 (2005)

Space Monkey is the codename used by Adobe for its Photoshop CS2. Released in April 2005 with quite a lot of features, namely Camera RAW 3.x, Smart Objects, Image Warp, Spot healing brush, Red-Eye tool, Smart Sharpen, Vanishing Point and many more. 12. Adobe Photoshop CS3 10.0 (2007)

Back in April 2007 Adobe released Photoshop CS3 with the codename Red Pill, Photoshop CS3 is a more elegant look that is different from previous versions by being more minimalist and prioritizing workspaces. The added features are Quick Select tool, Black-and-white conversion adjustment, Auto Align and Auto Blend, Mobile device graphic optimization and many more. Photoshop CS3 can be installed on the Universal Mac OS X operating system, Windows XP SP2 or more.

13. Adobe Photoshop CS4 (2009)

New features added are: Adobe Bridge CS4 support, Windows Vista x64 support, Masks panel, Adjustments panel and many more. The appearance is also changed again by Adobe such as icons, toolbars and workspaces.

14. Adobe Photoshop CS5 (2010)

The codename for Photoshop CS5 is White Rabbit which was released in April 2010. There are not many changes made to CS5, including the display of icons, Welcome Splash, Toolbar and Workspace. As for the features are: Mixer Brush, Automatic Lens Correction, Camera RAW grain control, support Mac OS X 64 bit.

15.  Adobe Photoshop CS6 (2012)

Adobe Photoshop re-released Photoshop CS6 with Codename Superstition. The dark black look is the default theme in Photoshop CS6, but you can still change the color like gray in previous versions. There are many additions to Photoshop CS6, including Blur Gallery, Adobe Camera RAW 7, supported by Adobe Mercury Graphics Engine, New Crop Tool, Auto-Recovery.
