Types of Web Browsers

Mozilla Firefox

Good performance with multiple levels of security, making Mozilla Firefox still exist in use today. The advantage of a web browser is that it has many features, such as add-ons, Reader View, and a guaranteed security system. However, the download process in Mozilla Firefox sometimes does not run automatically.

Google Chrome

Minimalist and attractive appearance, makes users feel comfortable when browsing the internet using the Google Chrome web browser. The advantage is in the loading speed because Google Chrome tends to be lighter, then has complete security features and anti-fraud protection. However, you cannot change the shortcut key in Google Chrome.

UC Browser

This browser was first released in 2004 in China. The majority of UC Browser users come from smartphones, but the performance of UC Browser via the web cannot be underestimated either. The advantage of this one web browser is that it can reduce browsing data, so it can save data. UC browser is rated well as a media downloader. What’s unfortunate about UC Browser is that it doesn’t support javascript and RSS feeds.

Opera

Opera has a minimalist appearance and one uniqueness that distinguishes it from other browsers. If other browsers have all the menus at the top of the screen, in Opera you can find them on the right side of your screen (sidebar). Opera also has a Turbo Mode which makes it faster for you to open web pages when the internet network is less stable. But just like Google Chrome, in Opera you can’t change the shortcut key.

Microsoft Edge

For those of you old Microsoft users, you will remember Microsoft’s flagship web browser, namely Internet Explorer (IE), now Microsoft has provided a replacement, Microsoft Edge. Microsoft Edge is built using Chromium, an open source project that is also the basis for building Google Chrome. So the features of Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome are almost the same. There is an assumption that Microsoft Edge is better than Google Chrome, this is because Microsoft Edge is considered lighter, faster, and more battery efficient. You also don’t have to bother setting up an account because it’s already integrated with Microsoft. But unfortunately, Microsoft Edge does not have an extension/add on feature.

Safari

Along with the rise of Apple products, Safari became a web browser that is quite widely used. Developed by Apple Inc., Safari was released in 2003 for the web, and 2007 for mobile. Safari can also be used for Windows OS, you know. Having an attractive UI and fast loading makes Safari more attractive to many people. However, because it is already attached to Apple products, even though it can be used on Windows, it makes Windows users still less familiar.
